The Times this morning in its lead article informs us that books calling for the beheading of lapsed Muslims, ordering women to remain indoors and forbidding interfaith marriage are being sold inside some of Britain’s leading mosques. Some of the fundamentalist works were found at the bookshop in the London Central mosque in Regent’s Park, which is funded by the Saudi regime and is regularly visited by government ministers. Its director, Ahmad al-Dubayan, is also a Saudi diplomat and was among those greeting King Abdullah when he arrived in Britain last night for his official state visit. I suppose a church with similar gutter-pamphleteering calling for the progrom of Jews or Muslims would be shut down entity non gratae Yazid- the issue is not Christain vs Islam=- it's about some Mosques openly peddling unacceptable Hate Speech literature- which has no place in any religion, Hindu, Christain, Jain, Islam, Jew or Church of Flying Spaghetti Monster or whatever.

They're a few hundred years behind Christianity in the UK in terms of progression towards tolerance etc. The Saudis are as bad as Iran and others when it comes to fundamentalism, lack of women's rights etc. I still don't get why they cling onto that tower yelling thing, it has no place in modern society - just license a local radio station and let those who want to listen to the preaching do so in their own homes. I just don't wanna hear it! Could say the same for church bells, it doesn't mean anything to me.
